SATAN: WORLD’S FIRST TERRORIST
See Ezekiel 28 starting at verse 13 as God addresses Satan.
Eze 28:13 You were in Eden, God's garden. You were dressed in splendor, your robe studded with jewels: Carnelian, peridot, and moonstone, beryl, onyx, and jasper, Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald, all in settings of engraved gold. A robe was prepared for you the same day you were created. Eze 28:14 You were the anointed cherub. I placed you on the mountain of God. You strolled in magnificence among the stones of fire. Eze 28:15 From the day of your creation you were sheer perfection . . . and then imperfection--evil!--was detected in you. Eze 28:16 In much buying and selling you turned violent, you sinned! I threw you, disgraced, off the mountain of God. I threw you out--you, the anointed angel-cherub. No more strolling among the gems of fire for you! Eze 28:17 Your beauty went to your head. You corrupted wisdom by using it to get worldly fame. I threw you to the ground, sent you sprawling before an audience of kings and let them gloat over your demise. Eze 28:18 By sin after sin after sin, by your corrupt ways of doing business, you defiled your holy places of worship. So I set a fire around and within you. It burned you up. I reduced you to ashes. All anyone sees now when they look for you is ashes, a pitiful mound of ashes. Eze 28:19 All who once knew you now throw up their hands: 'This can't have happened! This has happened!'"
Note: God set this cherub over the earth protect it, overshadow it, and rule it.
The mountain of God was the place where Lucifer had his kingdom and throne before Adam’s time. (Isa 14:12-14) this was on earth as proved from the fact that it was even before the fall of this created angel (vs 13-17)
The walking in stones of fire was before he sinned and before Adam’s time.
Time of Lucifer’s fall. 28:15 The time of his iniquity was when he rebelled against God to exalt his throne and kingdom from earth to heaven (Isa 14:12-14) The time of his corruption and sin was sureley before the days of Adam, for Lucifer was already a fallen creature at the time he came to Adam’s Eden. (Gen 2:2; 2 Cor 11:4.)
Vs 17 This gives the cause of the fall of Satan. His heart was lifted up because of his beauty, the splendor of his kingdom and his authority (1 Tim 3:5)
These sanctuaries were the ones he had in the pre-Adamite world where he and his subjects worshipped God. Here he put forth his greatest efforts to cause his subjects and those of Jehovah to rebel against HIM (v 18)
The iniquity of his traffick was that of slandering God to his subjects and gradually leading them and some of the angels to rebel openly against HIM.
This fire coming forth will bring Lucifer down to eternal torment. (vs 18; Mt. 25:41; Rev. 20:10)
LUCIFER HUMBLED
He has already been humbled before kings, for he was cast down to the ground before all the nations over whom he ruled previous to the time of Adam. (Isa 14:12-14)
He will again be brought down in the deepest humiliation before the kings of the earth whom he will lead with Antichrist, in the battle (Rev 12:7-12; 16:13-16; 19:11-21) then again at the end of the Millennium will again be brought down to hell before all kings and others who will spend eternity with him in the Lake of Fire (Mt. 25:41: Rev 20:10)
BROUGHT DOWN TO ASHES
He will be brought down LIKE ashes to the ground. Ashes speak of the deepest humility and like them he will literally be brought down to the ground, and even down to hell where men will behold him (vs 17-18)
This has no reference to his body being burned to ashes at all; if he were but ashes then these men could not see him or know that it was Satan. Therefore, it is not to be taken that he has a mortal which can be burned to ashes. The Septuagint reads LIKE ashes. People will astonished at him not at his ashes. (vs 18-19)
